Vikram Saini born on 5th June 1969 in Kawal, Uttar Pradesh. He is a prominent Indian politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) . He currently serves as a member of the 18th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh representing the Khatauli assembly constituency . However, despite his political success, Saini's career has been marred by controversy .

Saini's educational background includes receiving his 8th Pass from Rajbala Shiksha Niketan, showcasing his modest beginnings . In the 2017 election, he listed his occupation as being in agriculture, reflecting his ties to the land and the rural community .

Before entering state politics, Vikram Saini served as the gram pradhan of Kawal and later transitioned to a legislative role in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly . Since 2017, he has been a member of the BJP and has represented the Khatauli Assembly constituency . Saini's political acumen was evident when he defeated Samajwadi Party candidate Chandan Singh Chauhan by a significant margin of 31,374 votes in the elections .

However, Vikram Saini's political career took a dark turn due to his involvement in the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots . In 2020, he appeared in court facing attempt-to-murder charges under the National Security Act related to the riots, during which three people lost their lives . Despite being detained and released in 2014 for his alleged role in the violence, Saini's past caught up with him .

On 12th October 2022, Vikram Saini was convicted and sentenced to 2 years in prison in connection with the Muzaffarnagar riots case. Along with 11 others, he was found guilty by a special MP/MLA court of rioting and other offenses, leading to each individual being fined Rs 10,000 .

Vikram Saini's trajectory from a grassroots leader to a legislator ultimately defined by a prison sentence serves as a cautionary tale of the impact of one's actions in the political realm . Despite his political accomplishments, his involvement in the riots overshadowed his contributions, highlighting the importance of upholding peace and harmony in a diverse society .
